A frontal system brought some light rain to parts of the Lakes Region Tuesday, which is the first of several weather systems moving in according to the National Weather Service.
While a slight chance of showers is in the forecast for today, the significant weather pattern begins with the potential of periods of heavy rain beginning Thursday morning and continuing through the weekend. Forecasters also predict the chance of some severe thunderstorms developing beginning Friday and going through the weekend.
Rainfall is expected to depart most of the area on Monday.
