Jonas Arjes will take over the leadership of the Branson Lakes Area Chamber of Commerce and CVB on an interim basis.
The announcement was made last Friday a few days after Chamber President/CEO Jason Outman had informed the chamber he would be stepping down from that position sometime this month.
At their regular meeting last week, the Board of Directors voted to name Arjes, a current Chamber Vice-President and leader of the Taney County Partnership, as interim leader effective immediately while the search begins for a new fulltime leader. Arjes had previously served as interim leader from the summer of 2020 until Outman took the lead position in January of 2021.
The complete release from the Branson Chamber is below:
Jason Outman met with the Board of Directors of the Branson/Lakes Area Chamber of Commerce and CVB at their regular scheduled meeting on Friday morning, March 3. Going into an Executive Session at the end of the meeting, the board voted unanimously to appoint Jonas Arjes as interim President/CEO of the Branson/Lakes Area Chamber of Commerce and CVB to be effective immediately.
During the regular meeting, Chairperson Cynthia Carson said the board was very appreciative of Outman’s time in the leadership role and noted that he was instrumental in increasing visitation.
There is a Branson Chamber/CVB policy in place to navigate this transition period. A search committee will be formed, and at the appropriate time, the process will begin to fill the position. The Branson Chamber/CVB team will report to Arjes during the transition period and will continue to drive the tourism industry and community business efforts forward.
The Branson community is invited to come to a reception for Jason Outman during Brew Crew at the Branson Chamber of Commerce, 4100 Gretna Rd., at 2:00 pm on Friday, March 10.
