Bill Helps Area Airports with Infrastructure

The Bipartisan Infrastructure Law provides $15 billion for airport-related projects as defined under the existing Airport Improvement Grant and Passenger Facility Charge criteria.

According to a press release from the Federal Aviation Administration, the money can be invested in runways, taxiways, safety and sustainability projects, as well as terminal, airport-transit connections and roadway projects. For FY22, $2.89 billion has been made available to U.S. airports around the nation.

The Branson Airport as well as the Boone County Airport in Harrison are among the airports that will receive funding through the law. The Branson Airport will have just over $1 million available for improvements while the Boone County Airport has been allocated $295,000.

In addition, the Carroll County Airport in Berryville, the Marion County Airport in Flippin, along with airports in Aurora, Branson West, Cassville, and Monett will each receive $159,000. The Springfield-Branson International Airport in Springfield has just under $4 million available to apply to projects.

According to the release, airports can begin submitting plans to the FAA for the improvements they would like to see moved forward. A total of $2.89 Billion is available to airports around the country to use for improving facilities and safety measures.
