The Branson Board of Aldermen give initial approval Tuesday to the renewal of the Historic Branson Downtown Community Improvement District.
A public hearing was held during the Board of Aldermen Meeting and though some input was received as to the possibility of reconsidering the district, several business owners showed their support for the district which was approved on a 6-0 vote by the board.
Second reading of the bill is scheduled to take place at the next Aldermen meeting on March 25 then the CID Board will pass a resolution that will continue the board for another 20 years.
The initial CID was approved in 2006 for a 20-year term which was set to expire in 2026 if not renewed.
