The City of Branson has delayed a final vote on a proposed Animal Ordinance for Pet Owners and Commercial Entities until November.
The decision came after a lengthy process that was begun three years ago and lead to initial passage of the ordinance earlier this year under the administration of then Mayor Edd Akers. After the election of current Mayor Larry Milton and several new Board Members, the item was postponed and Town Hall Meetings were scheduled to get more public input.
According to several Aldermen during discussion at Tuesday's meeting, there were many parts of the proposed law that people liked but others that they felt were an overreach so the Board voted to postpone further consideration of this Ordinance until November so the Board can look at the current and proposed law and combine the two into one that address all concerns.
The vote to postpone passed on a 6-0 vote.
