Branson Mayor Larry Milton discusses several current projects in the city on a visit to KRZK's Ozarks Now Program.
Milton discussed the Mammoth Fieldhouse Project which is proposed along Gretna Road. The city and developers have been in discussions about a possible Economic Development Agreement for the project utilizing some Sales and Tourism Tax Revenue from the project to help reimburse the developer for some costs once the project begins to generate revenue. Milton said that when entering an agreement like this, it is important to balance the overall impact to the community and how it will advance the tourism economy overall. The Board of Aldermen gave approval on a 4-1 vote to enter into the agreement for the Mammoth Fieldhouse Project at Tuesday night's Board of Aldermen Meeting.
Milton also discussed the ongoing project of upgrading the Baseball/Softball Fields at the Branson Rec Plex to turf through the assistance of a matching grant. The Mayor says the upgrades to the field will boost the potential tournaments that can come to the complex with little if any weather delays as well as expand the tournament season further into the fall.
Milton said that he will be discussing this and more during his annual State of the City Address he will present at the February 27 Board of Aldermen Meeting.
