Branson recognized some of its Parks and Recreation employees at Tuesday’s Board of Aldermen meeting; Alderman Jeff Seay presented them with the Employee of the Month award.
“It is my privilege to announce that the City of Branson’s Service and Excellence Employee of the Month award for February 2022, is going to Parks & Recreation employees Tony Booher, Jason Weeks, Rick Wenk, and Jeremy Lininger,” Seay said.
Seay said they “stepped up in a big way when the new 10,000 square foot, eco-friendly trail project at Eiserman Park was in jeopardy.” He said when the contractor plans fell through due to COVID, it appeared that the project was not going to happen. “Instead of accepting defeat, however, this group took it upon themselves to learn how to do the work and to get all the certifications they needed to install the trail themselves. From cutting in the trail, installing the base rock, to mixing and lifting 42,000 pounds of the porous pave material, they got it done and got it done right.”
He added that the trail is a “hub” for walkers and runners and that it improves citizens’ quality of life. “On behalf of the Mayor, Board of Aldermen, City Administrator, and City staff, it is my honor to announce Tony Booher, Jason Weeks, Rick Wenk, and Jeremy Lininger as the City of Branson’s February 2022, Service and Excellence Employees of the Month,” Seay said.
