Branson Police Confirm Fatality in Crash on Highway 65 UPDATE 2

The Branson Police Department confirms the accident they worked late Friday morning on Highway 65 was a fatality crash.

A 20-year-old woman is dead after a traffic crash late Friday morning in Branson. 

According to a release from the Branson Police Department, the crash occurred around 11:15 am on Highway 65 between the Highway 248/Shepherd of the Hills/Branson Landing Blvd exit and the Bee Creek Road/Branson Hills Parkway interchange. Two vehicles were involved in the crash with one person pronounced dead at the scene while the driver of the other vehicle was not reported as injured.

The release did not name the person killed but a report by the Branson Tri-Lakes News and social media posts later confirmed by the Taney County Coroner's Office identified the woman as Kylee Davison. Branson Police report that the cause of the crash is still under investigation.

A statement for Branson Director of Communications Lisa Rau say the Branson Police and Fire First Responders as well as Taney County Ambulance personnel responded to the site of the crash around 11:15 Friday morning. Two vehicle's were involved in the crash with a 20-year-old female who was found deceased at the scene. The driver of the other vehicle was not injured according to the statement. 

The preliminary investigation does not show reckless actions or intoxication according to the statement though the final investigation is expected to take approximately one month.

According to a post on the Department's Facebook Page, Branson Officers were investigating the crash that occurred between the Highway 248/Branson Landing Blvd/Shepherd of the Hills Expressway exit and the Bee Creek Rd/Branson Hills Parkway interchange. 

The post also stated that officers had to shutdown traffic going both ways as officers continued the investigation into the crash which also caused impacts on other roads including Branson Landing Blvd as motorist continued to work their way around the crash site. 

The Missouri Department of Transportation estimated at least 2:00 before the scene would be clear. 

More details on the crash will be posted as they are released by emergency personnel.
