Becky Jewsbury and Bob Smithers from the Branson Veterans Task Force talked Wednesday about this Sunday's Branson Remembers 9-11 Ceremony at the Branson Landing.
Jewsbury and Smithers appeared on KRZK's The Upside with Josh (Clark) and Them on Wednesday to discuss the event. Branson Remembers 9-11 will take place on Sept. 11 at 6 p.m. Smithers said this is an opportunity to "remember, recognize and honor" the victims of the Sept. 11 attacks. He highlighted the Brett family who has produced this event for years. He also mentioned many people who will attend.
The BVA 913 color guard and the honor guard, the assistant police chief, the Branson Fire Department and many more people are expected. "The Hughes brothers will be there to sing a couple of tunes," he said. Mina Thomas Brett will sing the National Anthem. Yakov Smirnoff will deliver remarks, and later, a bell ringing ceremony will play.
The bell ringing ceremony includes naming of all the countries impacted by the attacks and how many people were killed from each country. The full interview with Jewsbury and Smithers can be heard using the player below.
