The city of Branson’s sales tax revenue for the month of November showed a marked decline from the previous year, with the city’s latest reported tourism tax income showing a slight decline for the second time in 2023.
The 1% sales tax revenue for November 2023 was $1,137,353, an 8.1% decline from 2022’s $1,237,070. Despite the significant decline, the amount is still the second highest monthly amount recorded in November for the city of Branson sales tax.
The year-to-date sales tax total is $13,997,267, 3% ahead of last year’s revenue pace, but down from the 4.1% pace after October’s revenue report. With one month to go in the year, revenue for December would need to be over $950,000 to set a revenue record for the entire year, and Branson has never had a December sales tax revenue below that amount.
