
BRANSON, MO (March 3, 2025) – Branson Junior High seventh-grader Kunal Patel claimed victory at the 2025 Association for Children’s Educational Sponsorship (A.C.E.S.) Regional Missouri Spelling Bee for the second consecutive year.
Patel participated in the competition in Rolla, Missouri on March 1, and won by correctly spelling the word “peony.” He will move on to compete in the Scripps National Spelling Bee held in Washington D.C. from May 27-29.
“I’m so excited and proud to represent Branson again at the National Spelling Bee, ” said Patel. “It’s been a lot of hard work, but I love the challenge and I am grateful for the support of my parents, friends and teachers.”
Seven first through eighth grade Branson students competed in this year’s A.C.E.S. Regional Spelling Bee:
● Kunal Patel: First place, Branson Junior High School (7th grade)
● Jada Kelley: Third place, Cedar Ridge Intermediate (6th grade)
● Bodhi Gerken: Fourth place, Buchanan Intermediate (4th grade)
● Kaival Patel: Ninth place, Cedar Ridge Elementary (3rd grade)
● Griffin Taylor: Twelfth place, Cedar Ridge Elementary (2nd grade)
● Emmalyn Franks: Cedar Ridge Intermediate (5th grade)
● Marissa Livingston: Cedar Ridge Intermediate (6th grade)
