Melissa Laws is the city of Branson government's employee of the month.
Laws is the Branson government's compliance specialist and legal assistant. City Clerk Hillary Briand presented her with the award during Tuesday night's board of aldermen meeting. Briand highlighted why Laws was selected for the award and commented on her job.
"Melissa was nominated for her unwavering dedication, excellent attention to detail and impeccable work that all contribute tremendously to the success of the city. Melissa's job might be one that takes place mostly in the background, making sure that all the contracts and compliance issues are met, but it is definitely not unnoticed," Briand said.
The city clerk described how Laws does more than necessary. "Melissa goes above and beyond to assist other departments in getting their contracts done by the deadline dates and within the strict guidelines that are required." Briand said that replacing Laws isn't possible and that she embodies what Branson values.
"Her dependability and knowledge make her irreplaceable in her job and she is an outstanding example of the values held high by the city of Branson," she said.
