Public Works and Engineering Equipment Operator Bruce Smith is the Branson government's employee of the month.
Public Works and Engineering Director Michael Wood presented Smith with the award during Tuesday night's board of aldermen meeting. He explained why Smith received the honor.
"Bruce was nominated for his exceptional professional leadership skills and his capabilities to bring a team together, [and] keep them motivated to accomplish a goal safely and efficiently. He is patient with the team and takes time to teach and explain things while working to solve problems that may arise," Wood said.
Wood provided an example of Smith's outstanding work. Smith led the team by teaching how to work the department's gear. In addition, he has given assistance to other city departments.
"They always comment on how helpful and courteous and kind he is," Wood said. The department director's inbox was packed with nominations for Smith.
