The continuing dry weather in the Lakes Region has officials concerned about outdoor burning.

The Southern Stone County Fire Protection District is one of several agencies that is discouraging outdoor burning with the conditions remaining dry and no rain in the forecast until at least next week.

In Arkansas, the Department of Agriculture’s Forestry Division releases their latest map of Burn Bans that have been issued. Boone, Carroll, Madison, and Newton Counties are among those with Burn Bans. All four counties also are listed at a High Fire Danger level while the rest of the area is at a Moderate level.
