Christmas is coming, and the Boone County Library wants to celebrate.
The library's Terry Register appeared on KHOZ's "Around The Table" to talk about the library's slate of activities for this month. First, Food for Fines is back. Anyone who has library fines can have them considered covered.
Fines can disappear with a donation of non-perishable foods that aren't expired or personal care items. Register said those donations go to local charities.
She discussed closings. The library will close on Dec. 24 and 25 and will close at 3 p.m. on Dec. 23. The library will also close at 3 p.m. on Dec. 31. It will close on New Year's Day as well.
It's sweater weather, and the library is accepting lightly used sweaters, coats and jackets. Register said those will also go to area charities.
