The amount of Coinage available seems to vary from region to region according to an area Bank Official.
Roger Frieze, Commercial Lender for Central Bank in Branson, says during a recent interview on KRZK's Ozarks Now program, that their bank has not had issues with supply of coins and in getting the coins to customers that need it. Frieze said the amount of coins available may depend on the region.
Recently, Taylor Huspeth of First National Bank of North Arkansas, said during an interview last week on KHOZ's Around the Table program, that their bank had experienced a shortage and that they had started a program asking for area residents to bring coins in to their banks to help keep in stock.
Several businesses in the Lakes Region have posted sign's asking for customers to pay with either a Credit or Debit Card or exact change due to the shortage, which Federal Reserve Officials say in a recently published interview by business insider.com, is an issue of Distribution as people are not using them as much as in past years.
