Three lakes area Law Enforcement Agencies team-up to apprehend a fugitive from Colorado.

According to a release from the Boone County Sheriff’s Office, their department was contacted by the Branson Police Department asking for assistance in apprehending 41-year-old Corey Lee Handy who was wanted on several charges in Colorado including a parole violation on a 1st-Degree Murder Charge.

Colorado authorities had contacted Branson PD after they received information that Handy may be in the area. Branson Detectives had received information that Handy was in Harrison. Branson PD reached out to the Boone County Sheriff's Office who in turn asked for additional assistance from the Harrison Police Department and the Special Operations Team. Before officers could serve a search warrant at the residence he was at around East Washington Ave on Wednesday, Handy attempted to escape and was taken into custody without incident.

Boone County Sheriff Roy Martin says in the release that Handy is currently in the Boone County Detention Center awaiting extradition back to Colorado on the Parole Violation Charge as well as an outstanding warrant for Kidnapping.

The original release can be found on the Boone County Sheriff's Office Website.
