The Community Blood Center of the Ozarks reminds donors the Holiday Season puts a high demand on blood in the Ozarks.
Community Relations Representative Michelle Teter, during a recent interview on KRZK’s “Ozarks Now” program, says that blood supplies are in good shape overall, but the holidays always bring a high demand with visitors in the area. Teter adds that Type O Negative, known as the Universal Blood Type, is always in demand because it can be given safely to any person needing it until their blood type is determined.
The CBCO, which serves all hospitals in southwest Missouri, northwest Arkansas, and parts of southeast Kansas, is offering successful donors a Kansas City Chiefs Kingdom T-Shirt while supplies last plus enter to win a Chiefs Gameday Package for their December 21 game against the Houston Texans.
The CBCO is hosting a Blood Drive from 12:00 to 6:00 pm today at Cox Medical Center in Branson, 11:00 am to 5:00 pm Wednesday at the Branson Tri-Lakes News Office in Hollister, and next Monday from 12:00 to 6:00 pm at the First Christian Church in Harrison.
