A growing national trend in mental health awareness has impacted a medical facility in the Lakes Region.
Faith Community Health, which had been serving the uninsured and under-insured in Stone and Taney Counties since 2009 with primary healthcare, announced in July they would shift their focus to mental health services with a remodel and a rename of the facility on Branson Hills Parkway to Hope Counseling Center.
Faith Executive Director Kyle David, during a recent interview on KRZK's 'Ozarks Now" program, said that with several new providers coming to the Lakes Region, primary care was not as big an issue with area residents. David said after Faith added mental health services fulltime last year, they were overwhelmed with requests for appointments.
David said that August 16th is the official date of the name change and changes in the website and social media for the organization, though Faith has already transitioned to mental health services that are available Monday thru Friday.
The complete interview with Kyle David can be seen on the "Ozarks Now" Facebook Page.
