BRANSON, MO (February 4, 2025) – The Branson Public Schools Board of Education has promoted an internal candidate to fill the role of Superintendent Dr. Brad Swofford. Effective July 1, Dr. Nate Moore will succeed Swofford, who is retiring after 30 years of service to the Branson School District.

“After partnering with the professional search firm EGL Association, the Board is excited to announce Dr. Nate Moore as our next Superintendent,” shared Board President, Sonja Myer. “Through a thorough review and interview process, Dr. Moore stood out as the top candidate, chosen for his exceptional leadership skills and unwavering commitment to our district’s mission. We are confident in his ability to build on the strong foundation Dr. Swofford has established over the past 30 years.”

Currently the Assistant Superintendent/CFO for Branson Schools, Moore previously served as Superintendent of the Mansfield R-IV School District from 2012-2020. He earned his undergraduate degree from Missouri Western State University, and graduate degrees from Southwest Baptist University and William Woods University. He received his doctoral degree in Educational Leadership from Lindenwood University.

With 25 years of experience in public education, Moore has served as a classroom teacher, coach, building principal, superintendent, and assistant superintendent. He holds membership in the Missouri Association of School Administrators, American Association of School Administrators, Missouri Association of School Business Officials, and Secretary of the Board for Missouri Capital Asset Advantage Treasury. In 2024, Moore was named a trustee for the Missouri Public School Retirement System/Public Education Employees Retirement System (PSRS/PEERS).

Nate and his wife, Jamie, who is an elementary teacher, have three school-aged children, Maddison, Mykka and Thad. "I am honored to serve as the next superintendent of Branson Schools and to work alongside our incredible educators, staff, and students,” said Moore.

“Our district has been built on a tradition of excellence, and I am committed to supporting our teachers and staff as they continue to inspire and empower the next generation. Our students are at the heart of everything we do, and I look forward to ensuring that each of them have the opportunities, resources and encouragement needed to reach their full potential.”
