A fire destroys a building at Stormy Point Village.

The complete details below from the Southern Stone County Fire Protection District:

Southern Stone County Fire Protection District was dispatched at approximately 20:15 on 29/SEPT/2022 to a structure fire in the Stormy Point area at the address of 94 Pemberly Lane, Branson, MO.  Branson Engine 3 and Battalion Chief Cizek were first on scene to a three-story, approximately 15,000 square feet, residential type structure, owned by Capital Vacations LLC, that currently housed Stormy Point Resort supplies and maintenance facilities.

Fire was through the roof on the Charlie side.  DC M. Moore arrived on scene and assumed command. A second and third alarm were struck. All employees were evacuated. Fire ground operations were declared defensive due to cleaning chemicals present in the building. Water supply was established from the hydrant on Stormy Point Rd and tanker shuttles utilizing a portable dump tank. Electric and water utilities were notified.

An Operations Section Chief and two Safety Officers were designated. Numerous handlines were stretched from three engines. Ladder 6012 was positioned on the alpha side and an elevated master stream was initiated. A fourth alarm was struck for more tankers. Rehab was established by fire auxiliary members near the command post. Utilities were secured.  The fire was unable to be stopped due to the compartmentalization of the building and the amount of fuel load.  Crews continued operations until approximately 04:00 on 9/30/2022.

Due to the extent of damage the origin and cause of the fire could not be determined. The structure and contents were a complete loss.  All units cleared the scene with no injuries reported.

A total of 48 Firefighters responded into the scene. Seventeen apparatus from Southern Stone County Fire, five apparatus from Western Taney County Fire, two apparatus from Northern Stone/Northeast Barry County Fire, one apparatus from Highlandville Fire and one apparatus from Branson Fire/Rescue.  An estimated 200,000 gallons of water was used to fight the fire.

Southern Stone County Fire would like to thank our Firefighters, our Fire Auxiliary, Branson Fire, Western Taney County Fire, Highlandville Fire, Northern Stone/Northeast Barry County Fire, Mercy EMS, Stormy Point Staff and Security, White River Electric, Stone County Water District #2 and others who assisted in any way to this incident.  We extend our sympathies to the Capital Vacations/Stormy Point Resort for the loss of their operations structure.
