The Branson government recognized several employees during Tuesday night’s Board of Aldermen meeting; Branson Alderman Cody Fenton presented them with the Employee of the Month award.
Fenton announced firefighters Joshua Burton, Dalton Pennington, Billy Wayne Kepford and Police Sergeant Stan Kauffman as the Employees of the Month. Fenton highlighted a recent occurrence where they helped a local homeowner.
“These first responders were nominated for going above and beyond for a local homeowner after a truck crashed into her home and caught fire. When the wrecker was trying to remove the truck, a shrub was in the way,” Fenton said. He revealed that this was not an ordinary shrub.
“It was a shrub that had been planted to honor the homeowner's brother who had passed away. When the homeowner relayed that to the first responders, they took special care to dig up the shrub to avoid it being destroyed and replanted it for the homeowner,” the alderman said.
