Heat Advisory Area Shifts, More Scattered Storms Possible

The weather this weekend continues to be a mixed bag of hot conditions and chances of scattered strong to severe thunderstorms.

Saturday saw some strong storms move through the area in the evening with several Severe Thunderstorm Warnings issued for the region including the eastern half of Taney County. Further east in Douglas and Ozark Counties, where several trees were knocked down partially or totally blocking some highways for a time. Power was impacted as well and as of 8:00 am Sunday morning, over 60 White River Valley Electric Customers in extreme northeast and southeast Taney County remain without power with other customers in Christian, Douglas, and Ozark Counties also still out of power.

For today, another marginal chance of severe thunderstorms are possible in the Lakes Region.

Meanwhile, the National Weather Service has shifted the areas under Heat Advisories today. The eastern part of the Lakes Region, including both the Branson and Harrison areas are not under Heat Advisories today though temperatures will still be very warm, into the upper 90's with possible heat index readings into the low 100's. Counties not under a Heat Advisory today include Taney and Ozark in Missouri, Boone, Marion, Netwon, and Searcy in Arkansas. 

Meanwhile west parts of the Lakes Region, including Barry and Stone Counties in Missouri and Carroll and Newton in Arkansas are under advisories with higher humidity readings in those areas. That includes areas around Berryville, Eureka Springs, Kimberling City and most of Table Rock Lake.
