Travelers in the Ozarks Monday Evening into Tuesday could encounter heavy rain.
National Weather Service Forecasters in Springfield call for the potential of two to four inches of rain along the I-44 corridor as a frontal system come through the region. Current forecasts call for lesser amounts of rain in the Lakes Region with amounts mainly between a quarter and a half inch expected.
Rain will move out later in the day Tuesday with temperatures cooling off into the 50s and 60s for most of the week. Another system is forecast to move in New Year's Eve and continue through New Year's Day which will be followed by colder temperatures going into the first week of 2022.
