The organization Stacker recently released date on the number of veterans that are living in each county in Missouri.

All of the Lakes Area counties rank in the Top 50. 

The highest percentage of veterans for the population is in Stone County 11.9% of the population is veterans according to the date from the U.S. Census Bureau. Also, in the Top 50 percentage wise is Ozark County (#21), Barry County (#40), and Taney County (#41). Of the four counties, the highest number of veterans are reported to live in Taney County, with the number at 4,444 according to the census. 

Other southwest Missouri counties in the Top 50 include Douglas, Dallas, Webster, Dade, Newton, and Lawrence.
