Nineteen-year-old Jordan Woodley has been arrested following a police chase through Taney and Boone Counties.
The story below from KTLO:
According to the probable cause affidavit dispatch notified officials with the Boone County Sheriff’s Department of a Taney County Official in pursuit of a vehicle traveling South on U.S. Highway 65 towards Boone County.
Dispatch advised Taney County officials were pursuing a 2016 Dodge Charger with Arkansas temporary license plates which showed to be a stolen vehicle.
Boone County officials caught up with the charger traveling South on U.S. Highway 65 at the North and South entrances of Ridgeway Loop and activated emergency lights and sirens, but the vehicle failed to stop and continued South on Highway 65.
As Woodley’s vehicle passed a business, he allegedly drove into the oncoming lane of traffic at approximately 100mph. As the chase entered the city limits of Harrison, Woodley allegedly reached a speed of approximately 130 mph. The vehicle then swerved around a vehicle on the shoulder and towards another oncoming vehicle.
A Harrison Police unit attempted to deploy stop sticks at a traffic light in front of Walmart but was unable to due to the high rate of speed in which Woodley was traveling.
As the pursuit approached the U.S. Highway 65/U.S. Highway 65 Bypass intersection, Woodley allegedly traveled into the opposite lane of traffic and lost control. The vehicle then struck a curb in front of Taco Bell as it traveled South in the North lane, fish tailing for approximately 200 yards before coming to a rest sideways in the road.
The driver of the vehicle, identified as Woodley, exited from the driver seat and began to run away from the vehicle. At the same time Woodley was running away, a female exited the passenger seat. A Boone County official drew a service weapon and both Woodley and the passenger complied with orders.
Woodley advised officials he purchased the vehicle in his sisters name, but officials in Christian County, Missouri stated they ran the VIN and it returned stolen. The Fort Smith Police Department advised Woodley and a female purchased the vehicle using a fraudulent check. The vehicle has been registered as stolen on May 10.
Woodley has been charged with theft by receiving, a class B felony; fleeing in a vehicle, a class C felony; two counts of aggravated assault, a class D felony; reckless driving; careless or prohibited driving; driving on a suspended license; driving left of center; and speeding.
He is free on a $25,000 bond.
