The Hollister School District continues to set the Administrative Team for the 2025-26 School Year.
The recent announcement from the school district is below:
The Hollister R-V School District is pleased to announce that Mr. Dallas DeWeese has been named the new Assistant Principal for Hollister Early Childhood Center (HECC), effective July 1, 2025. Mr. DeWeese will step into this role as Mrs. Amy Jo Kilgore transitions into the position of Lead Principal.
Mr. DeWeese has been an integral part of the Hollister school community since beginning his teaching career in 2018. Throughout his tenure, he has taught 6th and 7th grade social studies and 6th through 8th grade physical education. His leadership extends beyond the classroom, having served as a coach for middle school and high school basketball, middle school baseball, and softball, as well as acting as an FCA Sponsor, student council sponsor, and building PBIS Lead. Additionally, he has contributed to district-wide initiatives as a member of the District AI Committee.
Recognized for his excellence in education, Mr. DeWeese has received several awards, including Hollister Teacher of the Month, District Teacher of the Year, "Out of This World" Teacher, and the prestigious Milken Educator Award.
“I was inspired by my former administrators to pursue my goals, and I hope to have that same impact on students,” said DeWeese. “This opportunity allows me to influence an entire school community. The early childhood center is the foundational building block of the district, and I am excited to contribute to its continued success.”
As he transitions into the role of Assistant Principal, Mr. DeWeese’s short-term goals include immersing himself in the HECC culture by building relationships with students, staff, parents, and the community while learning from Mrs. Kilgore’s leadership and experience. In the long term, he aims to collaborate on initiatives that support students and staff while implementing PBIS strategies to recognize and reinforce positive student behaviors.
Mrs. Kilgore expressed her enthusiasm for DeWeese’s new role, stating, “Mr. DeWeese is a passionate and dedicated educator who truly cares about students, staff, and families. His leadership, experience, and commitment to student success make him a perfect fit for the early childhood center. I look forward to working alongside him as we continue to create a strong foundation for our youngest learners.”
“Hollister is home for my wife and me,” DeWeese added. “We love this community and the way it supports students, teachers, and staff. There’s no place like home—we love our Tigers!”
The district looks forward to Mr. Dallas DeWeese stepping into his new role and celebrates the continued excellence of the Hollister Early Childhood Center.
