The National Christian College Athletic Association Women's Basketball Championship Game at College of the Ozarks Saturday had an unusual start.

The start was to allow a player for Mission University to finish her collegiate career with a basket. In Thursday's semifinal win for the Lady Patriots, Senior Brooklyn Luna suffered a season ending injury. The Lady Patriots along with Saturday's Championship opponent, the host C of O Lady Cats, set-up a plan to allow Luna to log time in the championship game.

The opening tip-off was won by the Lady Bobcats with Abbey Lineville scoring an uncontested layup followed by the Lady Patriots getting the ball down court uncontested and handing the ball to Luna, who had used crutches to get under the basketball prior to the tip-off. While it took two shots, Luna did make the basket tying the game at two, at which time she was replaced at the game commenced as normal from there.

After Mission took a nine point first quarter lead, the Lady Bobcats rallied and dominated down the stretch to take the 75-62 win, claiming the school's second NCCAA Championship in three years.
