The Junior Auxiliary of Taney County hosted its second Grocery Grab event this year on Saturday, Nov. 4.
Paul Norman won the shopping spree and asked for a designated shopper and chose his daughter, Miah. The grab took place in Harter House in Hollister before the store opened for the day. Miah had the opportunity to go through the store uninterrupted for three minutes and fill her cart with items. She had to cross the checkout line before the three minutes were up to take home all the groceries she fit into the cart.
“Miah went on an AMAZING run and in three minutes flat piled her cart with just over $1000 in groceries ($1,004.41 to be exact)!,” a press release from the JATC stated. “At the request of her dad, she picked up several turkeys. When asked how many turkey dinners he was going to have, Paul replied, ‘I’m giving the turkeys to my guys at work for Thanksgiving.’ Paul was proud of his daughter for her efforts and stated, ‘I know she will always remember this.’
