A Lakes Area Food Pantry is hosting a question and answer session Monday about the impact recently announce budget cuts will have.
Christian Action Ministries announces that Executive Director Michelle Dean will hold the session open to volunteer, community members, and partners to address the impacts and how CAM plans to move forward with their mission.
The session will take place at their Branson Hub Pantry located at 2400 State Hwy 165 at 10:00 Monday Morning.
Last week, the United States Department of Agriculture announced they were permanently canceling $500 million in The Emergency Food Assistance Program (TEFAP) food purchases.
Ozarks Food Harvest says in a press release that it estimates that it will lose $3 million worth of food in 2025 because of the USDA funding cuts.
Jordan Browning with Ozarks Food Harvest tells Ozarks First that the cut will impact about 8% of their distribution.
Ozarks Food Harvest supplies food to many pantries in southwest Missouri including CAM and Salvation Army Branson.
