Troop D of the Missouri State Highway Patrol had a busy Wednesday working several crashes including two with fatalities.
Two crashes occurred on different sections of Highway 160 with the first being just before 4:00 in Taney County at the intersection with Homestead Acres Road after 31-year-old Kenneth Tillman of Merriam Woods lost control of his vehicle and collided head-on with a vehicle driven by 23-year-old Caleb Hawley of Hollister. Hawley was pronounced dead at the scene while Tillman sustained serious injuries.
The accident along Highway 160 was in Nixa as a vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed went through a red light and struck another vehicle, killing a 9-year-old passenger in the vehicle hit. Neither the name of the victim nor the driver that ran the red light were released in the MSHP Report.
Troopers also worked a serious accident in Stone County near Cape Fair as 68-year-old Michael Young of Cape Fair sustained serious injuries after he lost control of his motorcycle on Highway 76 and struck a drainage ditch.
