A man facing many charges of fraud for over a decade is now facing charges being filed by the Missouri Attorney General's Office.
Online court documents indicate in November, a member of Attorney General Andrew Bailey's staff filed felony charges against Brian Sides of Reeds Spring for Deceptive Business Practices and Financial Exploitation Of An Elder/Disabled Person.
The probable cause affidavit says Sides and his company, MyPowerGrid, LLC, was paid nearly $14,500 to install solar panels at a person's home with the work never being done and no refund was provided.
This is the latest in a series of allegations against Sides and his companies, dating back to charges of scamming Joplin Tornado victims in 2012. In addition, Sides faced judgements in both Greene and Stone County involving practices of his companies in 2023 then later, Duane Smith contacted both Ozarks First and Legends 1063 about a dealing he and his wife Stephanie and with Sides and his wife Stacy in purchasing an RV Home Park in Mountain Home. The Smith's accused the Sides' of abandoning leaving them to deal with the park which had already cost them thousands of dollars. The Smith's were awarded a awarded a monetary judgement of over $334,000 in their case against the Sides'.
For the new charges, Sides has been issued a summons to appear in Taney County Circuit Court on December 19.
