Many area roads and slick an undrivable this morning due to icy conditions that have developed overnight.
2:00 pm Monday Update
Roads are improving in the region with temperatures warming up to at or above freezing. Treated roads are becoming slushy though some slick spots remains while untreated roads still have many slick spots.
After initially planning to open at 1:00, Taney County Eastern Commissioner Sheila Wyatt tells Ozarks Dynacom news that the Taney County Courthouse in Forsyth would not open today. The Library Center of the Ozarks, also initially planning to open this afternoon, elected not to because of the road conditions. Check out the Cancellation Page for more information.
Winter Weather Advisories and Ice Storm Warnings are set to expire at 3:00 this afternoon.

Untreated roads in the Lakes Region are covered with ice while a few major roads have been treated but are still very slick. Travel is nearly impossible, even for four-wheel drive vehicles.
Most schools that were scheduled for today has already been cancelled and Taney County Eastern Commissioner Sheila Wyatt tells Legends 1063 that the Courthouse in Forsyth will not open until 1:00 this afternoon.
Winter Weather Advisories are still in effect for most of the region including both the Branson and Harrison areas while Ice Storm Warnings are in effect for Christian and Douglas Counties in Missouri and Madison and Newton Counties in Arkansas until early afternoon.
Conditions are forecast to improve late morning into the afternoon as temperatures rise into the low to mid 30’s with rain still in the forecast for day.
