March 2nd is an important day for Republicans across Missouri interested in having a say in who the state will support as the party's Presidential Nominee.
After years of holding a primary, the state of Missouri did not authorize a Statewide Presidential Preference Primary but instead left it up to the Republican and Democratic Parties to determine how to select their choice for Presidential Nominee.
Ron Houseman, Chairman of the Taney County Republican Central Committee, says during an interview on KRZK's "Ozarks Now" program that the State Party decided to return to the Caucus Form of deciding who will be the State's Presidential Nominee. On Saturday March 2nd, Registered Voters in Taney County can take part in the Caucus Meeting at Forsyth High School beginning at 10:00 that morning. Houseman explained the process of deciding which one of the party's candidates will be supported by the county's Republicans and also have input on the Party's Platform going forward.
Republicans in every Missouri County and the City of St. Louis will hold identical meetings at the same time on the same day. Some of the other meeting locations in the region include:
Stone County: New Testament Christian Church in Reeds Spring
Barry County: Cassville High School
Christian County: Ozark Jr. High School
Douglas County: County Courthouse in Ava
Ozark County: The Center in Gainesville
