Missouri will not Enforce Federal Vaccine Mandate Right now, Press Secretary Chris Nuelle Responds to Questions

As of now, Missouri will not enforce the federal government’s vaccine mandate.

Ozarks DynaCom’s News Department contacted Attorney General Eric Schmitt’s office for comment. Press Secretary at the Missouri Attorney General’s Office Chris Nuelle responded. “The Court imposed a preliminary injunction that has no expiration date or time,” Nuelle said.

According to an OzarksFirst report, on Monday the Missouri Attorney General’s Office made known “that it received a court order blocking the federal vaccine mandate from being enforced in the state.” The article also states that Missouri and nine additional states filed a lawsuit in October “over the vaccine mandate on federal contractors.”

“I will continue my fight against this unlawful, unprecedented government overreach,” Attorney General Eric Schmitt said. Additionally, Nuelle commented to Ozarks DynaCom on the argument of vaccinating for the greater good. “Our position has been and continues to be that people should be able to make the decision to wear a mask or get a vaccine themselves, and the government shouldn’t be forcing their citizenry to wear masks or get a vaccine. We’re fighting for individual liberty and freedom,” he said.

OzarksFirst also states that the “Missouri Attorney General’s Office recently obtained an injunction against the federal vaccination mandate for health care workers. Missouri has also joined a motion requesting an emergency stay, asking the United States Supreme Court to stop the vaccine mandate on private employers.” Regarding the emergency stay request, Nuelle told Ozarks DynaCom’s News Department he is “not sure if there’s been any movement in the Supreme Court.”
