Mosquito fogging returns to Nixa

NIXA, Mo — All the rain this month has created pooling water and more opportunities for mosquitoes to lay eggs.

Every year, Nixa rolls out fogging trucks Monday through Thursday to cut down the number of mosquitoes — which can carry diseases like the West Nile virus.

“You know, the spring rains, we have a lot of standing water, which is the perfect spot for mosquitoes to lay their eggs and to hatch out. And so every spring is always bad,” Roussel said.
