According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, one man was involved in two separate accidents within minutes of each other Saturday.
The first of the two online reports indicates a car driven by 31-year-old Kelton Moore of Forsyth struck a motorized wheelchair from behind on Highway 76 near Kirbyville around 5:20 pm. A person on the motorized wheelchair, 67-year-old Charles Morris of Kirbyville, was taken to Cox South Hospital in Springfield for treatment of serious injuries. According to the report, Moore's vehicle sustained minor damage and was driven from the scene.
However just over 10 minutes later, another crash occurred further east on Highway 76 as Moore's vehicle began going off the highway, he overcorrected, and the car crossed the highway eventually striking a mailbox and overturning. Moore sustained moderate injuries and was also taken by Taney County Ambulance to Cox South Hospital in Springfield for treatment.
