Josh Bright from North Arkansas Regional Medical Center (NARMC) spoke with “Around The Table” on KHOZ on Thursday about vaccines and the COVID-19 Delta variant.
“To date we have completed 116 vaccine clinics, administering 14,600 doses in our community and the community surrounding us,” Bright said. In addition to that, 7,400 doses have been redistributed to other entities in the community. Bright said the Delta variant originated in India and is much more transmissible.
“We’re seeing a lot younger crowd, particularly unvaccinated people catching this variant of the COVID-19 virus,” he said. After mentioning increases in hospitalizations, Bright added that they are expecting the variant to be predominant in the United States in July.
