A year long discussion about revising the Animal and Pet Ordinance Laws for the City of Branson results in no change for now.
The ordinance, originally voted on in March of 2021 before being delayed for more public input and revisions from the Branson Police Department, was voted time by a 6-0 vote for the board. Discussion on the final reading included comments about how misinformation was being put forth on how the changes were proposed to begin with and also that a better way to handle this would be to tweak specific parts of the current law.
Prior to the vote, City Administrator Stan Dobbins said with the City about to begin discussions on revisions to the 2030 Long Range Plan would be the opportunity to look into these issues more specifically. President of the Board Bill Skains, presiding over the meeting for Mayor Larry Milton who was not at the meeting, asked for the vote which ended up 6-0 in favor of not passing the revised ordinance.
