A newly established nonprofit is on a mission to provide employment opportunities to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in Taney, Christian and Greene counties.
Imagine Technical Institute is a vocational training and employment services provider for adults with such disabilities in southwest Missouri, which works in collaboration with Boone Center, Inc., located in St. Peters, MO.
The nonprofit empowers people with disabilities to find and retain jobs within the local community, working alongside non-disabled individuals while earning the same opportunities, benefits, and pay. The program came to fruition as a result of Hollister native Tim Connell’s passion for helping individuals with disabilities. Connell volunteered for disability-related organizations following his son Brendan’s autism diagnosis in 1995.
