One of the men charged after a sting operation last year has had his charges dropped.
The story below is by Bill Tatum of Ozarks First:
Charges have been dismissed against one of four men charged with sex trafficking crimes in Taney County after another was sentenced in a related case.
According to the Taney County Circuit Clerk’s office, charges of prostitution were dismissed against Devon Leo Stetts, 29, of Gassville, Ark. after he performed community service.
A probable cause statement indicated Stetts was charged after he responded to an online ad by an undercover officer claiming to be a woman over the age of 18. He agreed to pay for sex with the woman and was arrested when he arrived at the meeting place, the document states.
In a related case, 23-year-old Tyler Robinson of Monett is to serve three years in prison after he pleaded guilty in January to a charge of promoting travel for prostitution. He was accused of forcing a victim to be a prostitute and arranged meetings for sex in exchange for money.
Court documents say the victim told law enforcement she felt unsafe and had been physically abused by Robinson for several days. A second count of promoting prostitution was dismissed as part of a plea agreement with prosecutors.
Two others charged in connection with the Robinson and Stetts cases – all stemming from a sting operation by multiple law enforcement agencies – have pending court cases:
Jahmar Graham, 42, of Branson, charged with second-degree attempted sex trafficking of a child under 18, is next in court on March 31.
Roy L. Reyes II, 26, of Kimberling City, charged with second-degree attempted sex trafficking of a child under 18, is scheduled for trial in August.
Graham and Reyes both responded to ads online by undercover officers claiming to be girls under 17 years old, according to probable cause statements and offered payment for sexual conduct.
