The expected completion date for the new Hollister Tiger Activity Community Center is still this summer despite some additional work to be done.
The full release below is from the Hollister School District:
Due to unforeseen circumstances the structural integrity of the Tiger Activity Community Center, a facility designed to serve as a cornerstone for student and community activities, has been impacted, requiring additional work to ensure it meets all safety and quality standards.
In response, the district has partnered with the architect, general contractor, and engineers to address the situation swiftly and effectively. All are focused on delivering the high-quality facility that Hollister voters and taxpayers envisioned when they generously approved funding for this project.
To ensure the safety and long-term reliability of the building, the impacted structure will begin to be disassembled this week. New steel materials are already being shipped to the site, and additional workers will be brought in by the contractor to support an expedited rebuilding process. These efforts will allow the project to remain on track with early summer 2025, as the anticipated completion date.
The district recognizes the importance of this facility to our students, staff, and community members and is dedicated to ensuring that it is completed to the highest possible standards.
Updates on the progress of the Tiger Activity Community Center, as well as other bond projects, will continue to be shared on the bond page of the district website.
