As a storm system that will bring in much colder air approaches the Lakes Region, weather forecasters get a clearer picture of the impacts in the region.

The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Weather Advisory for the Missouri Lakes Region Counties of Barry, Ozark, Stone, and Taney as well as Boone and Marion Counties in Arkansas.
Weather Forecasters are still predicting around an inch of snow in the region but some flash freezing could occur on wet roadways with the sudden drop of temperatures Sunday evening.
The latest information from the National Weather Service indicates most of the Arkansas and Missouri Lakes Region will see rain and even a few thunderstorms tonight into overnight with precipitation mixing with snow by mid-afternoon Sunday. Snow amounts in the region are not expected to exceed one inch.
Snow and ice will impact travel in areas north and east of the Lakes Region with some areas between Marshfield and Rolla expected up to a half inch of ice accumulation and snowfall further north of up to five inches of snow.
Temperatures will drop Sunday night into Monday morning with lows in the teens and highs in the 20s through Wednesday with Wind Chills around zero Monday and Tuesday.
