SCHD: Naloxone Training Could Help Save Lives

The Stone County Health Department is making people aware of live saving training that is available.

Monica Mueller, Community Health Specialist with the Health Department, during an interview on KRZK's "Ozarks Now" program talks about the substance Naloxone, which is also know by the brand name Narcon. This is a medication that can help reverse the results of an opioid overdose. It is used by emergency personnel to help in the first moments of treatment for an overdose. Naloxone training is available for individuals through several organizations in the area. Mueller along with Sharon Perkins of the Health Department during the Ozarks Now interview saying individuals who have this training can help save lives even before the arrival of emergency personnel.
