School of the Ozarks and the Classical Thistle is hosting a Classical Christian Educators Forum on the College of the Ozarks today and Saturday.
The Classical Christian Education Conference will explore the practical aspects of teaching classically in today’s classrooms. Through practical workshops that include ideas and tips from seasoned classical educators, this conference aims to equip teachers with tools to apply immediately in their classrooms. The conference is designed around three plenary lectures and 35 workshops spread out over six breakout sessions. Additionally, some workshops will be sample lessons, so attendees are able to see classical Christian education in action.
To start the conference Dr. Jerry C. Davis, president of College of the Ozarks, and Dr. Sue Head, vice president for cultural affairs and dean of character education, will give welcoming remarks.
Kevin Clark, founder and President of The Ecclesial Schools Initiative and co-author of The Liberal Arts Tradition, will deliver two plenary lectures and a pre-conference workshop. Kyle Rapinchuk, associate professor of Christian worldview at School of the Ozarks and co-founder of the Classical Thistle, will give the final plenary lecture.
Video of the breakout sessions and audio of the plenary sessions will be available in the months following the conference and can be accessed at no cost.
