School of the Ozarks hosts Commencement Ceremony on May 5, 2022

School of the Ozarks is hosting its Commencement Ceremony at the Williams Memorial Chapel this evening.

According to a release from College of the Ozarks, twenty-two seniors make up the 2022 S of O graduating class. Out of these 22 students, 14 have committed to furthering their education at College of the Ozarks.

Lansing Brown, class of 2014, will be the commencement speaker.

“We are so pleased to be graduating our 10th class from School of the Ozarks,” said Brad Dolloff, dean of School of the Ozarks. “Our alumni have been poured out on the world to be salt and light, and I am excited to see what God does with these young graduates. They have been a blessing to us, and I’m confident they will be a blessing to the world.”

About Lansing Brown

Lansing Brown is a Branson local, born and raised. He attended School of Ozarks his junior and senior years, as a member of the second graduating class, in 2014. He was the first student council president, competed in basketball and track & field, was vice chairman and a founding member of the Young America's Foundation chapter, and wrote for the school newspaper.

He attended the College of the Ozarks where he earned his bachelor’s degree in business and a minor in history. There, he worked at five different workstations, competed in track & field, acted as a campus rep for Kanakuk, and met some of his best friends. He took a job at Clear Marketing in Branson, advertising for local and regional clients. The next year he attended the Kanakuk Institute, learning about the comprehensive story of Scripture and deep-diving into community formation and discipleship.

In May 2021, he married his best friend, Kennedi, and they moved to Nashville, Tennessee. He currently works for the advertising team at Ramsey Solutions while Kennedi attends Physician Associate School at Trevecca Nazarene University.

“Each of our classrooms at School of the Ozarks has a document on display called “Portrait of a Graduate.” Lansing epitomizes that document,” Dolloff said. “He has become a successful professional and is using his influence to impact the world for Christ. We are blessed to have him return to his alma mater to address the graduating class of 2022.”
