As Winter Storm Kingston departs the Lakes Region, it leaves snowfall reported by several outlets of around 6 to 8 inches, which falls below some of projections. 

During an interview Wednesday on KRZK’s “Ozarks Now” program, Randy Luna of Storm Dar say the lesser snow amounts are probably due in part to denser snow moving up from Arkansas close to the Low-Pressure system that brought the storm through the region. Luna explained that lowered what forecasters call the snow ratio, which meant the snow was not as powdery as expected. He says all the other factors were present as predicted which still resulted in significant, if not as much snowfall.
