A man with several past run-ins with Law Enforcement now is charged with fleeing from an officer.
According to court documents, 50-year-old Billey Gene Filbeck was driving a vehicle that stopped along Highway 248 when and officer approached the vehicle to check on the well being of anyone inside the vehicle. When the deputy turned on his emergency lights, the driver, later identified as Fillbeck, sped away beginning a pursuit that went along 248 west of Galena and eventually onto McCord Bend Road. After several attempts, law enforcement was able to get Fillbeck's vehicle stopped and he was taken into custody.
Fillbeck stated to officers he was just trying to get home and didn't know why he fled according to the probable cause statement, which went on to say that Fillbeck was found to have a revoked license and had over a half dozen other convictions.
Fillbeck is currently being held on a $100,000 bond in the Stone County Jail facing a felony charge of Aggrivated Fleeing a Stop or Detention with a next court date scheduled for March 4 in Stone County Circuit Court.
