Stone County Voters to Decide on Prop P Law Enforcement Tax

In just under two weeks, voters in Stone County will see Prop P on the April 5th Ballot, which is a Sales Tax to aid in Law Enforcement efforts.

Stone County Sheriff Doug Rader, during an interview Tuesday on KRZK's "Ozarks Now" program says that issue is a 1/4 of one percent Sales Tax that if approved, will help provide a School Resource Officer to rotate between the Crane, Galena, and Hurley School Districts, to get a K-9 Officer for the Department, in addition to raising the salaries for current officers and staff as well as hire new road deputies and equipment.  

While the cost is only a dime for every $40 spent, the tax would generate around $1.2 million annual to fund these projects.
