Storm Assessment Continues

According to information from the Missouri Department of Transportation, Highway 76 between Lakeshore Drive and the Roundabout in Hollister remains closed as crews will continue working to repair road damage caused by the heavy rain, the second time this year the damage has occurred along the northside of the road along Lake Taneycomo. Knox Avenue is also closed in that area.

Several roads remain closed according to the MODOT Traveler Information map due to high water while many secondary roads are also closed. While no schools have been called off in the Lakes Region today several schools were cancelled on Tuesday due to flooded roads and some schools in southcentral Missouri are closed again today.

Kelsey Angle of the National Weather Service in Springfield, during an interview Tuesday on KRZK’s “Ozarks Now” program said they are analyzing data collected on site and readings taken at the time to determine if any actual tornado’s hit the ground during the round of storms Monday evening.

Temperatures will remain in the 60s with no rain the next couple of days though rain is in the forecast again for Friday and the weekend.
